Sunbeam backs their heated blankets with a 5-year warranty, so once it stops heating (usually within 1-2 seasons/years), just submit a claim with them through their site and they either send you a replacement or let you choose a replacement from a selection. I've done this with virtually every heated blanket I've gotten of theirs fit the last 10 years. So it's like you get 2 for the price of one. They're really easy to deal with as long as you have proof of purchase (Amazon order number and/or screenshot of the full order details screen) and a sharpie to scribble a giant X over the label/cut the power cord (depending on what they ask you to do) and send a picture to them.

No experience with Sunbeam electric blankets but recently got one of their heating pads and it died about 5 weeks after delivery. I thought about the warranty process but its easier to just return to Amazon. The darn things and their computerized electronic controls. Something goes wrong and you get an error and it will not heat.
I've had around 5 Sunbeam electric blankets. They work amazing! But, they're now all just "normal blankets". They die within a year on me. I avoid this brand now. I still use them as normal blankets though. lol

All electric blankets have some bad reviews, it's just the nature of the product. It's a web of thin wires sandwiched by a thin blanket. You bend or mistreat a wire and it breaks losing connection or starts shorting and shuts down for safety. Hopefully it shuts down if it's shorting rather than catching fire anyway.
