Not surprised to see a refurb deal on these since there are tons of them that get sent back to be fixed. I had a pair for 3 months before they refused to charge and I returned them. The charging and battery software is absolute trash which is a shame because I loved them while they worked.

I was able to fix mine. I realized it was because the headphones weren't fully assembled. My right headphones earpads weren't fully snapped on and it wasn't until I pushed those earpads in did ANC fully engage.
The leakage was caused more noise to leak through and not allowing the NC to fully engage.

For anyone still following this.
I picked up XM6 and PX7 S3 to compare. Obviously those are different devices, but speaking generally:
- ANC: Sony blows B&W out of the water, to the point where I had to seriously evaluate my motivations for getting headphones
- Build quality: B&W blows Sony out of the entire water park. Sony feels like a plastic toy that you can snap in half if you apply enough force. B&W is a premium device made with metals and very comfortable ear pads.
- Sound quality: B&W is noticeably better SPECIFICALLY when you compare them back-to-back. Sony just sounds so muffled once you put on the B&W. Everyone talks about bass on Sony, but bass is PX7 strong point too, to the point where I had to tune it down. PX7 downside is that sometimes it has piercing highs, especially high hat cymbals. It was pretty fatiguing before I got used to it. Overall, PX7 clarity is just significantly superior to Sony.

I did in fact evaluate my priorities, and I decided that FOR ME, sound quality was the most important factor, and I knew I would be disappointed if I picked up the Sony. So I stuck with B&W, which FOR ME has been an amazing choice, since I have used it to listen at home, and am enjoying a level of clarity I have never heard in my other devices.

Note: I got both headphones last BF when they had pretty deep discounts for open box on Amazon. Each one was around the $250 range.

Looking forward to your review. I just got my Woot Beats and the fit is definitely too small for my larger ears, so they're going back.
I'm not any expert, but for me

Bose Qc has better audio and anc, But this one feels like more premium, has premium materials comparing to bose qc, also more comfortable. I'm not sure which one I will keep, but for sure sound on qc is better

Just got mine today and im impressed. Listening to music was a dream, I had my wife listen and she enjoyed them so much she asked me to order her a pair of her own. So I have a second pair on its way for her.

The anc works great and didn't have any issues such as the earcups not being seated all the way

Thanks! I have the S1's and they're my favorite headphones, but the lack of EQ drove me nuts. Almost pulled the trigger on some old stock S2's for $189. Great deal!

Comfort was my #1 on my list, SQ 2nd, and ANC 3rd. I ended up picking up some Bose QC Ultras and so far they've been comfy. Paid $200 brand new off of local classifieds, otherwise I don't see why these headphones would be over $300.

Already had the PX8s, but had always wondered if they had been worth the premium over the PX7 S2. So far, I might actually prefer the PX7s. Need to do more A B testing, but $99 is crazy good.

Good price, but according to rtings xm4 and 5 are still better than this pair. Still, for 99 it's prob a steal
I know these things are subjective, but I have listened to and owned all three. These PX7 S2 definitely are clearer and more balanced than those Sonys. The XM4 & 5 are a little more muddy in the upper bass and midrange area. Noise canceling by the Sony's are definitely better, but in my opinion, this PX7 sounds much better musically, and I loved my XM4 and XM5, but that veiled, muddiness always irritated me slightly.

Good to hear this. My #1 choice for choosing a headphone is sound quality, with fit second, features a distant third. At $100 these are crazy good and wondered about trying the PX8. Your post has definitely put pause on that curiosity. Read somewhere else that with proper EQing, you can get these to sound like the S3 and PX8, you just lose the better ANC and other features, which do not matter much to me. I have other earbuds I use when hitting the road. I'd never be comfortable walking on the road with an over the ear set of headphones.

I've owned dozens of headphones, some close to $2K. At $100, refurbished or not, this is a crazy good deal.

Same issue with the right side anc here. I recommend everyone confirms anc is active in settings and then plug one ear while wearing opposing cup

Sounds like they have a Quality Control issue. Had the same problem with my right side. At first I thought I was going crazy as I could hear the ANC kicking in but I could still noises from the outside. Then I started snapping my fingers and notices the right side had ANC but the left side I could hear the snap super clearly. At first I thought that the left side ANC external mics were defective and that is why ANC wasn't working on the left side. I took them off and as I was pondering a out returning them and looking at them I noticed the left ear pad was not flushed to the headphone. Pressed it and heard a plastic snap sound. Now the ear cup was flushed, tested them again and ANC is working as expected.

Maybe that was the reason it got returned to begin with, maybe it was during the refurbish process. Is working now fine.

Really happy with the build quality and how comfortable these are. Sound quality out of the box is really good and tuned towards the mid-high frequencies. Think of Jazz or Vocals music. Haven't played with the EQs yet to test the bass.

Really wish Bose and Sony would take notes from B&W in terms of build. Both Bose and Sony are selling cheap plastic super delicate headphones for an absurd amount of money.

After using them this week, they were great for public transportation. I got home and turned them off and put them into the case. I believe the % was about 85% after a few hours used.

Sunday evening, turned them on and the battery was completely drained.

Wtf
