If you're not in a hurry, the new RZ31 is scheduled for release sometime at the end of the year-beginning of 2027.
The prices should start to drop more in that timeline on this.
People claim one significant upgrade will be access to Dirac ART.
Keep in mind the likely cost of the RZ31 will be significantly higher than this & to get ART will cost you another $600 on top of that(if you use a subwoofer).
It's just as well that the current gen of PAC AVRs didn't get Dirac ART since Dirac already have their hands full fielding the new ART adopters from Denon, Marantz, and Monoprice.
The only one that was even close to "like" was the Integra even then it lacked independent sub outs & access to DLBC.
It doesn't "undercut" the RZ50.
The RZ50 powers the same 9 channels(with more power 120) but can process 11, this can not.
The RZ50 has access to DLBC, like this does.
ART is only one algorithm, you pay to play, Onkyo chose not to with those units.
Generally speaking, you likely would hear an improvement with this over the 760.

So far speculation is it will have 4 independent sub outs.
Likely to be true since it's rumored to offer access to ART which optimally ask for 4 independent subs.
Having experience with both, I would point out a few things.
This will power speakers fairly easier.
Dirac is really good and it used to be a significant setup especially to units like the 760.
With the advent of A1EVO, it's no longer that big a difference(if at all).
One caveat, it has a learning curve & causes some confusion with the proper/optional setup.
The 760 has access to A1EVO but it only has Audyssey MultEQ.
The included Dirac on this doesn't offer their sub/bass correction but you can add it for $300.
You don't lose that with A1EVO.
Cost makes that question exponentially much more complicated.
I will say for the cost, this offers quite a bit of value imo.
When I don't play music in Zone2/3, then I can get 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 in main zone (Zone2/3 should have no sound)
If I need to play music in Zone2 or Zone 3 (not both), then I can still get 5.2.2 in main zone, and I can switch on/off main and zone2/3 independently.
I thought a lot but couldn't figure out a way of connection.
Thanks
