I was looking at some macbook pro nowadays for editing 4k and 8k videos. But in a tight budget. Like 1200, would this be enough power? Any thoughts or advice will be grateful...

Absolutely enough power. Storage will be an issue, but you could just put your videos on an external SSD.

Like so many things, "it depends." If you had just said 4K videos, I'd have leaned mostly toward a "yes, with minor caveats." The RAM is good, but not outstanding, and the built-in storage can get eaten quickly with multiple projects, etc; the M3 Pro horsepower is good for 4K. Multiply the caveats by a factor of four when going to 8K. Just as a for example (not that I'd expect you to do this): at the extreme, you could eat the non-system usable entirety of 512GB with about 20 minutes of 8K ProRes video. Anyway, you can absolutely get a lot done (especially at 4K and on shorter projects at 8K) with this machine, but the constraints will show at the high end.

USED. Absolutely nothing has been refurbished and only Apple provides genuine parts. Title it correctly. Unless it has been refurbished by the OEM you need to mark them USED or RECONDITIONED.

Thank you for your thoughts, I would really like to push more so I would really need to think about storage now...

Getting hated on but you're right. I just bought a "refurbished - like new" iPhone from a FP deal. Phone has 82% battery life, body has visible nicks on all sides, and as soon as I powered it on I got a warning about "unknown part detected" re the screen. Literally better off buying off Facebook or something lol

SD is the bastion of used garage-sale finds....yes, there's all this flowery language of it being refurbished/reconditioned/et -- it's used. Roll the dice, and hope your seller has a good warranty.

just get external storage. If you're limited by RAM then that's near impossible to upgrade. If you're limited by storage, external SSDs are extremely fast and will cost a lot less than Apple tax.

It's not a bad deal but also really not much better than available from other sellers "refurbished" and significantly higher than buying it "used". Similar performance and specs to baseline M5 MacBook Pro which costs $1599 and is probably worth $1350 used.

eh, you have a point but it's all based on words. Refurbished just means that, but who refurbishes it typically defines to what level it was refurbished. Apple refurbish means basically new, others will be varying degrees less than that.
