Got this thing a few months ago ... Use it more than I thought to melt butter and small stuff.... Balance is definitely wonky

Calling it a sauce pan was a weird move, these are melting pots. Great for melting butter, keeping bbq sauce warm, etc.

The energy companies taking in obscene profits every year is basically the opposite of communism, neighbor. Their profit margins are a large part of our energy costs.

I can't imagine a cook of any level reaching for this.

You can find a more suitable stainless steel option for a fraction of the price or maybe free on Marketplace, CL, or any thrift shop.

Looks like it would tip over easily. And there's issues cooking acidic foods in cast iron, so anything with vinegar, barbecue sauce for example, is out. Not sure what this would be useful for, maybe melting butter or heating baked beans on a campfire.

It's an okay price. I bought two of the equivalent from lodge as a melting pot for $2 each and $4 shipping 7 years ago from a deal, but that's the lowest price I think that has ever been seen on these new. I haven't used them much - some. They are heavy, and hard to find a spot for in kitchen. Meant one to go to workspace.

Edit: come to think of it, these were my first cast iron pans/pots. I bought a huge skillet later that I cook bacon in all the time, so buying it to dip your toes in might be a reason too.
