Saw the two piece Anvil Locking Pliers set for $2.30 on clearance at my local(Lawrence, KS) HD.

They had quite a few remaining plus other hand tools on clearance.

As always with HD clearance YMMV.

The Home Depot people told me that the Anvil tools arrive in their cardboard display boxes which means they go to the "racetrack" aisle. That's the wide area between the cash registers and the main shelving. In some stores, there might be an extra wide aisle that gets some of those cardboard displays as well.

Try to change your store in Homedepot website and in the list of the near branches you can probably see "On Clearance" label
