Total garbage. The solar panel is nearly useless and the battery capacity is fraudulent.

I have this in orange. Solar panel is useless, after a few charges, it's good for charging an iPhone 14 (maybe) once. At this juncture, it takes FOREVER to fully charge the power pack. Literally close to 18 hours for a full charge.

I imagine the solar panel is just to get enough charge to shoot off one SOS text. How long would it take to charge say 5% of ta standard iphone?

That's not how it works. Energy produced by the solar panel charges the power bank's internal battery, which in turn is then used to charge a device it's connected to. The solar panel is a complete mismatch for the power banks's battery capacity - in real world conditions, it'll take days to recharge using solar power alone. The best way to look at these things is as a conventional powerbank that you replenish from USB input. The solar feature is mostly a gimmick. I suppose in an extended emergency situation the solar function would be better than nothing. But if that's something you're interested in, you'd be much better off getting one of those 20-60 watt compact folding solar panels.

Representative example of what I'm talking about: amazon.com/LiPower-Portable-High-Efficiency-Foldable-Compatible/dp/B0F183X8ZV/ref=sr_1_12?crid=28FN8... [amazon.com]

Great example link. Looks like a pretty good deal itself from what I know about prices of small USB-outputting solar panels. A+

I picked it as an example because it seemed like a pretty good price. But otherwise I can't call it anything other than a representative example because I don't have any direct experience with that particular model. I've accumulated a couple different off-brand ones over the years and they've both been reliable. The newer of the two is both lighter and more efficient.
