Cento Certified San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes are prized for pizza sauce, pasta sauce, and simple Neapolitan style pies, with a fresh flavor that stands out enough to replace more complicated sauces. The cans also include a Find My Field code that traces the farm in Italy, adding a nice provenance touch. The main drawback is shipping damage, since dented cans show up often enough that inspection on arrival matters. Minor dents are usually treated as cosmetic if the can is intact, but seam or edge dents raise safety concerns.
Home pizza makers who want a simple Neapolitan sauce, because these tomatoes crush cleanly and work with just salt, pepper, and basil.
Cooks making pasta sauce who want a bright canned tomato base, because these are used successfully for everyday sauce and taste notably better to some palates.
Shoppers who like traceable ingredients, because each can includes a code that can reveal the actual farm in Italy on an interactive map.
Buyers who need pristine cans on arrival, because these can arrive dented and some dents are severe enough to make cans unusable.
Safety-conscious cooks who will discard any compromised can, because seam or edge dents can create unseen air leaks that may lead to botulism.
Shoppers comparing against local canned tomatoes, because the price reflects shipping tomatoes from Italy rather than a locally grown product.
