more on that, from the link above, I purchased the https://www.ebay.com/itm/277263128385, which is falsely listed as a "Acer Aspire 14 AI Laptop: Intel Ultra 5 226V, 32GB LPDDR5, 1TB SSD." The Ultra 5 doesn't do 32GB of ram, Acer told me I would get an Ultra 9 based on a model number they provided (via DM) but actually received a Ultra 7 258v, which i still consider a pretty big win for the (then) coupon price of $450-ish.

Why is it that after buying my laptop a few weeks ago (Levano Yoga 14", 16gig, 512gig ssd, $500) that better laptops deals quickly come out?
Sigh

These laptops have some of the best specs available for the price. I recently picked one up and I'm glad I did. The only thing I need to warn about is that the screen is not the best. It's a bit washed out and leaks quite a bit of light and the speakers are absolutely trash. Still, the screen is good enough for my needs. I still highly recommend it if you can get passed those issues.

iGPU is about equivalent to a 680M. So not bad if you want to do some light gaming.

Why didn't you file a RMA

Nice find. Didn't look like the coupon still works on that one.

The coupon expired last week, ebay runs similar refurb coupons often though. I normally look out for something that it works on here, then click "see other items for sale" under the same vendor, via ebay, and you'll normally see which listings apply to the same coupon. Lot of scrolling involved though.

For what? Those issues I pointed out are the downsides to these laptops. Mine isn't unique. I want to keep mine because I can live with those issues because the specs matter the most to me. You cannot find a better spec'd laptop for the price right now.

I bought the 258v version of this laptop for $600, but returned it and got the $800 258v Vivobook S deal that was available.
The Acer was overall a great computer for the money, and I would recommend it to others, but I have a couple of caveats.
First (and the dealbreaker for me), the screen really sucks. It is dim (300 nits) and has a poor color gamut (56% sRGB). It also has very bad PWM (115 Hz) according to Notebookcheck.net (see https://www.notebookcheck.net/Ace...950.0.html) However, it is a touchscreen, which could matter to you.
Second, the exhaust for the chassis fan points into the bottom of the display panel, rather than out the back or side. The hot air mainly hits the lower plastic bezel, and it probably isn't a serious reliability concern, but it can only make things worse. I also found the fan whine to be louder than the Vivobook S and it ramped up more aggressively, even when set to the Quiet profile.
I understand that corners have to be cut somewhere (I overlook the keyboard flex, crappy speakers), but I couldn't get over the screen, especially the PWM. For someone else, it could be a great buy.
