Great entry price into handheld PCs.

If you aren't a fan of the controllers, the legion go 2 controllers are backwards compatible and have better ergonomics. https://www.lenovo.com/us/vipmemb...cessories/

There's also comfort grips you can buy on Etsy for the legion go 1 & 2 controllers.

If you're willing to open up the handheld PC, you can also replace the battery for an 81Wh. I'd say it gets me about 40%~ more playtime on a AAA title.

Tempting but this legion go is quite heavy and bulky compared to similar handhelds.

I got an open box unit on Prime day excellent condition one for about $400 last summer. This is pretty good deal new with warranty. I would expect SSD prices to be a lot higher now so factor that in if you plan to upgrade. That said, I love this thing. Yes it is heavy but the screen size and quality is amazing compared to the ROG Ally. Only downside is the 16gb ram may limit you in some games. Look to do an SSD, battery, and Legion Go 2 controllers as possible upgrades down the line. With new controllers basically gives you a cheaper Legion Go 2 experience.

Could never get myself to cave in because of the lack of VRR. With a high-res screen like this (e.g. GPU having to work extra hard), VRR would've been nice.

It's tricky to wait for a deal on something else because the RAMaggedon market conditions could make other devices more expensive.

This is a good deal. Those saying they got the S during the holidays at this price or wait until the s goes back to this price are gonna be waiting for awhile. Doubt you see those S prices anytime soon.

It's not that bad in person, I can't imagine playing on a smaller screen enjoyably
