Every time Nintendo changes controllers, there is a new set of these wheels to buy. Since the Switch, we have been able to get by without them.

Is there some kind of base to attach to or are these meant to move freely? I would imagine control wouldn't be any better than just waving your controller around?

I agree. I have a set of something like these at home and....it's not really needed. Use case just ain't "there". For example, if you're playing Mario Kart the mechanics don't really favor a wheel like theses it's pure arcade. Also nothing to keep it stable like a base. Just better off using it without...
