Price match at Best Buy. Tips for this

Find a microcenter that shows it has stock better if in same state or nearby state
Go to Best Buy online chat and request price match
Be polite to CS rep
If they're say no, say thanks and hop in another chat and try again
Not sure if it helps but I do this logged out of Best Buy, in incognito and restart incognito if failed. This is incase they track chat / what former rep said.
Send me money via venmo

Good luck all!

Reminder: even if you don't have a Microcenter nearby, you can buy online on Best Buy, then price match via customer chat, just be ready to send a link to a Microcenter ad showing it in stock. It's what I did -- finished the price match before heading to Best Buy to pickup.

Its out of stock on BestBuy (only sold by third party sellers, which BestBuy refuses to price match)

This is a strong entry-level Mac mini deal, especially for everyday work, photo editing, light video editing, 3D printing, CAD, and even some music production or AI assistant use. The M4 chip is described as fast and efficient, with 16GB RAM handling Adobe apps, Resolve, Fusion, Logic Pro, and Ableton without trouble. The main drawback is the 256GB SSD, which feels tight and may push buyers toward external storage or an upgrade path. Best Buy price matching also worked for many through chat when a Micro Center in-stock link and ZIP code were provided.

Common Questions (5)

  • For office work, web browsing, photo editing, light video editing, Adobe apps, 3D printing, CAD/STL work, Fusion, Logic Pro, Ableton, and even DaVinci Resolve, the M4 mini is reported to be more than capable. The main caveat is storage: 256GB is tight, so many buyers plan on external SSDs, docks, or NAS storage.

  • Yes, Best Buy chat can price match it when you provide a Micro Center in-stock link and ZIP code. The match often happens as a refund after checkout, and some reps require the item to be sold by Best Buy rather than a third-party marketplace seller.

  • Micro Center's website stock can be inaccurate, so the practical check is to open the store listing and use the "show out of stock items" option; if the product appears there, it's at least listed for that store. Some buyers also found units in-store even when the local website showed zero.

  • No, the deal later moved up to $499/$500 at some stores and was described as dead after about a week. The $399.99 price was still achievable for a while through Best Buy price matching, but the Micro Center listing itself eventually rose.

  • RAM cannot be upgraded. The SSD can technically be replaced or supplemented with external storage, but internal SSD swaps are tricky and may void the warranty, so many people use a Thunderbolt or dock-connected external SSD instead.

I bought one from Apple and used OpenClaw to create an auto-cart and checkout script. I got one from Microcenter and returned one from Apple. OpenClaw saved me $200.
seems incredibly wasteful

did you order first and then price match, or price match before ordering? what did you say when they asked for zip code, did you use yours?

I used my zip code. I tried to match first but the rep said another team would have to do it after I purchased. I was hesitant but he assured me it would be done. They followed through and issued a credit. I'll report back if I actually get the Mac shipped.
