Per the USB-C specification table that discusses USB Type-C Standard Cable Assemblies that mentions a "≤ 0.8 m" limit for 40Gbps and 80Gbps cables:
The cable lengths listed in the table are informative and represent the practical lengths based on cable performance requirements.

There have existed 1.2m (4ft) certified 40/80Gbps cables on the market for a couple years now. A few 1.5m (4.9ft) cables have been certified in the last year. This cable is completely legitimate.

Yea, this seems impossible. Passive cable length limit is 1 meter.

I'm thinking I'll try it, and if I can't get it to work for my 4k160Hz monitor, at least Amazon returns are easy.

Good price for a certified cable of this length/spec. Cable Matters is legit as well.
You used to be able to look up reviews for Aliexpress cables to see which ones actually met the advertised spec to get them for a bit cheaper but prices have shot up with tariffs and whatnot so it's not really worth it for these USB 4v2/TB5 cables.

I'm looking at usb.org I see the USB-IF certification for the 3.9ft cable, but not the 4.9ft. Am I missing something?

I actually contacted their support team about this. According to them, The TID for this cable is 12667. They are licensing it through this other manufacturer but are working through certification with their own USB VID.

It looks like this is the normal price except for the past month where they raised it and just lowered it again?

what a pleasant thread. People recognizing that a SD isnt just the cheapest no-name part, but a name brand, certified high quality product for a reasonable price. I will be getting one as well. I have several cable matters USB-IF certified cables and they all are well made and perform well.
