Just guessing, but probably because of the mix of fake glowing 5-Star reviews and horrible 1-Star reviews from real users.

If you sort the reviews by new and ignore the fake 5-star reviews most users give them 1-2 stars and say that they're dim and only last one to two seasons.

Yeah at under a dollar a light why not? Like you said, any solar light in this style rarely lasts. So either go cheap with these or fork over the money for a LV system.

I bought two batches of these in early 2023, and, BECAUSE THEY USE REPLACEABLE AA BATTERIES, 18 out of the original 20 are still in use. I didn't hesitate to buy these to keep for spares when they eventually fail.

ARRRGH...the coupon code did not work for me. I got the red, "The promotional code you entered is not valid" message
