I loved my backbone, worked great until month 20 of owning it where half the controller stopped working so it had to be junked. At this price, if you need remote play it's worth it. Look into mods where you can swap the button pad inside the right side to replace it with a Gameboy color button membrane to dampen the click noise. That drove me nuts.

I was reading the listing, is this compatible with Apple and android ? I'm not seeing it on there. I was recently trying to find the Sony version at Sam's club on clearance and had no luck.

This is the 2nd Gen model. I bought a gen 1 just before this was released and couldn't bring myself to pay for another one (until now)

The Gen 2 increases compatibility with different shape phones and cases. (Including iPhone)

Check on reddit or Google "Finally a fix for the loud/clicky buttons!" To see the defence. The Gameboy button membrane should be less than 10 bucks.

I have two 1st-gen lightning that I need to sell now that I upgraded my iPhone from 13 to 17 pro max. I bought the 2nd-gen recently. The 2nd-gen doesn't require an adapter like the 1st-gen did, but it doesn't feel quite right with my 17 PM. It's good enough, but not perfect.

The clicky buttons don't bother me. Never noticed it, to be honest, but I mostly mobile game (Diablo Immortal), as well as a lesser amount of PS Remote Play.

I've played 100s of hour and only had to replace one controller (my previous gen) due to L2 failing, IIRC. I was kit out of warranty, but Backbone sent me a new one anyway, no questions asked.

Received mine today and it's obviously not "new" condition or remotely close to new. There's obvious sign of use as you can tell there are grimes on the handles.
