One would think Stanley would fix the issue, which appears to be a loose cap. Why Amazon would sell items as leak proof when they know it isn't by the high rate of returns suggests to me a pending lawsuit. Some CA attorney is already looking for lead plaintiffs in a class action suit ... two target defendants Stanley and Amazon...

They're all a bit different but my go to is the 32 ounce Camelbak with the magnet lid. They have NEVER leaked for me. I own two and literally ten of the non-stop less that were bought YEARS ago. Those lids are interchangeable yet I've not needed to replace any.

For what it's worth I've been using these for around a year or so and never had a leak with the 3-4 I own. A lot of drops and I think today was the first time a drop resulted in the top popping open. I went through at least 2-3 Owalas a year due to broken lids (the pop up ones) and this has been much better. My dad does have the 24oz version and his does leak but it appears he lost the o-ring in the lid when washing it. The sip opening could be a bit larger but, otherwise, it's my favorite water bottle that I've tried.

I'm sure lid breaks, IF you drop it on the lid. We've had 2 for about a year and 0 leaks. Have dropped it on it's bottom, never the cap.. I'm buying another!

What are you possibly doing to go through 3 owalas a year? I've dropped mine a ton and nothing but a couple scratches.

I use them 5-6 days/week and am constantly on the go. I run a construction company and do sports photography so constantly getting knocked around/dropped/etc. I'm definitely much harder on bottles than the average user. I used the Owalas for about 3 years before the Stanley and was fixing or trashing the lids every few months. I wasn't trying to say the Owalas are bad (it's definitely me), just that the Stanley's seem to be a lot tougher in my experience. The hinge being on the back of the Stanley vs the top of the Owala is my best guess at why I've (so far) been much less likely to break any.
