The inside of this small unit seems to contain a small circuit board, uv bulb, and small blower that pushes the air over the lightbulb. The bulb in this unit appears to be 253.7nm wavelength, or non-ozone producing range. I hope this helps.

"Some air purifiers with UV light can produce ozone, while others do not. Specifically, devices using a 185 nm wavelength for ozone-producing UV create this gas, whereas those using a 254 nm wavelength (UV-C germicidal) generally do not."

I'm not sure, but many of the reviews do mention it removing bad smells.

Bought it in 2019, was running for almost 5 years (24/7) before the UV light died. Need to clean out the vents every few weeks. Although I can't really tell if removes odor 😂

These actually work I have also had these since 2019. I've left them on 24 seven 365 since then so I've had no problems. Sometimes they make a little bit of noise so you might have to brush the vents a little bit, but I would highly recommend these that only 20 bucks each I would get two they do release an amount of ozone which is small but it purifies the air. You can actually feel a difference, especially if you put them in a small space like a bathroom.
