I'm really dissapointed in where Slickdeals has ended up

When I discovered this site it was a bunch of people hunting deals and sharing them, it feels like those days are gone and it's turned into a place for generic Amazon products to be pushed by the staff. I used to refer people here every chance I got, it was a great place, I hate to see what it's become. New accounts created to push junk products and write fake reviews here just make it that much worse. It may be making more profits now, but I feel it's going to hurt the site in the long run.

I hate the panic created in threads, its such a sellers market now. And I dont blame anyone because if you dont buy, youll probably miss out. I guess its probably too many users now, it will never be the same. They have alot of analytics ect now, 10-15 years ago it was the wild west. Nowadays, every thread starts with "this is the greatest thing ever" and then its oh we go, and something that would usually never ever sell out, lest it was posted on sd, is now sold out. Had these people seen it in the wild, they wouldnt even give it a glance. Its like calm down, let it drop a little more, this is not a crazy deal.

I see good freebies, but can't post them because they're on social media and for some reason
users refuse to use Facebook or Instagram. Alrighty then, no freebies. I know they data mine,
but it's the way things are now. Sadwalk

I don't remember how I started receiving the emails from them but Mercury Magazines is a great freebie. I had Time magazine for around 10 years and never paid a dime for it. I currently get Sports Illustrated, Architectural Digest and GQ among other ones and they keep sending me the offers.
