Not really...
All top of the line Olympic bars use ball or needle bearings.
It's not about "dropping" (they all can handle it)... it's about the "spin" ;-)

So because it uses ball bearings I'm guessing not meant for dropping

This one is a massive upgrade from the $48 one. I have had the $48 one and it is perfectly adequate.. But this one is a cut above

A friend of mine at work outfitted his whole gym with Mikolo gear and has said that it's really good quality especially for the price. I was looking for an upgrade from the $13 bar I bought a few months ago, and this is perfect timing. Ordered -- shipment will take a week or so.

it is very much made for dropping. Essentially a bar either has bushings or bearings. A bearing allows for more spin which is good for things like clean and snatch. If you are doing fast, jerking motions like those you want more spin otherwise you would have lots of strain on your wrists. You can use it for other exercises but it may feel a little strange as the weights may rotate more than you want. A bar with bushings will still have spin but it won't spin as fast or easily. Bushings are meant more for lifts like bench press, squat, deadlift, etc. I don't do any of those olympic style lifting so I only use bushing bars and these types are what most will be used to. With that said if you want to see how a bearing bar feels you can give it a shot.

Skateboards have ball bearings, they take impact all day. The only thing that most people arent aware of are ABEC ratings. Doesn't matter what it his. Your first kick flip, that ABEC rating is gone.

A little advice to the SD website operators:
Your "Price Intelligence" is rather misleading than intelligent.
Nobody is selling this bar for $29.74 as claimed. (Btw... That link shows a pilates ring set.)
The current price at Macy's for this bar is $203.99
https://www.macys.com/shop/produc...D=20864668
Best Buy currently sells it for $679.99
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/m...JX287Y6RWW
At Lowe's it's advertised for $709.99
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Mikolo-7...ts/7869734
So... this Walmart Deal @ $117.99 is the best price out there...by far.
You might wanna fix your "Price Intelligence" tracker.
Cheers!

In for one. Even if a cheap bar has to be better than the ones I have which are close to 30 years old now

I noticed the same on the price tracker. But also noticed that your links to Lowe's and Best Buy each include 230 pounds of bumper plates, and the Lowe's bundle includes a bench.

I was just making a point about their misleading "Price intelligence"
Agreed on the extra plates...good point.
Personally, I would never pay more than $1 per pound.
But even if you add $230 for plates to the $118 for the bar, that totals: $348 for the whole set.
Still only half of these ~$700 package deals from Best Buy and Lowe's.
Speaking of bumper plates...
Here's is a decent deal:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/14768324167
$410 for a huge 470lb set. (Free shipping)
Nice.
