This MSI Aegis ZS2 looks like strong value for a Ryzen 9 9900X, RTX 5070, 32GB DDR5, and 2TB build, especially as component prices for graphics cards, memory, and SSDs have climbed. The 9900X should leave plenty of CPU headroom for gaming, and the system has been reported to run smoothly when the advertised parts arrive. The main concern is refurb and fulfillment consistency, with reports of B840 boards or even lower-spec machines instead of the listed B650 and 9900X setup. A solid-looking package, but the hardware inside needs a careful check on arrival.

  • The deal can look competitive versus current component pricing when GPU, RAM, and SSD prices are elevated.

  • The bundle can deliver smooth performance when the shipped parts match the listing.

  • Some units reportedly arrive with the correct PRO B650-VC motherboard and advertised components.

  • The 9900X can help prevent CPU bottlenecking during gaming when paired with a 5070.

  • Factory reconditioning can involve motherboard swaps that change chipset support versus the spec sheet.

  • Some shipments can include a different motherboard model that limits CPU overclocking and reduces expansion and I/O.

  • Some units can arrive with fans that spin up randomly despite BIOS and MSI Center adjustments.

  • Some deliveries can be lower-spec than advertised, including different CPU, GPU, SSD, and cooler on the shipping label.

I also have b840 motherboard as well. Sigh. Silver lining is that it has wifi 7. It is misleading what they're doing.. but for the price at this time I guess I'll just have to accept it
I got a response back from an MSI support person with the most bizarre email.

Product: Aegis ZS2 A9NVP-1407US
SN#: ----
Your information was forwarded to us in regards to an issue with one of the unit that you purchased and not having the correct motherboard.
I do apologize for that, but MSI does have different models of this unit and different customization with different motherboards in mind.
For your model unit, System will either come with the B650 or B840 chipset motherboard. Our specs from our site and PDF spec sheets, shows that this unit originally comes only with the B650 board.
Specs for the unit from the US site:
(Screenshot showing Motherboard should be the B650 Pro)
Full PDF specs of the unit:

Thank You

Like.... this guy just supported everything my initial complaint was saying? He even does the work of showing evidence for me which is also confusing. He lists what the spec sheet from the website says and what the PDF says and they both support my claim. I'm so confused what this email was even trying to do. My issue is that the B840 is NOT EQUAL to the B650 - it can't make full use of the 9900x on top of the things I listed in a previous post. I sent a response to the agent clarifying my complaint and how he is supporting my claim. The shop page says "Aegis ZS2 A9NVP-1407US" the box says "Aegis ZS2 A9NVP-1407US" the spec sheets say "Aegis ZS2 A9NVP-1407US" yes there are variants to this machine but THIS MACHINE IS THE "Aegis ZS2 A9NVP-1407US" which is supposed to have the B650. I'll keep posting updates as I get them but again I'm not expecting much.

I feel this is equal to the classic Craigslist scam where you agree to drive somewhere 30-45 minutes away on a specific day to sell something for 200 dollars and the buyer shows up and says he only has 150. It's like... yeah ok It's still a decent deal but this isn't what you agreed on and now you just want to be done with the headache and not have wasted all this time for nothing.

I've been following this thread and checking my unit after reading about the B840 motherboard swap. It turns out my case is even more extreme. I received a completely different, lower-spec machine. The shipping label on the box even explicitly lists these downgraded specs, which means they knew exactly what they were sending.
What I received:
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 7900
  • GPU: RTX 5060 Ti
  • SSD: 1TB
  • Cooler: Standard Air Cooler
  • Motherboard: Likely B840
I've already contacted Woot demanding a replacement or heavy compensation.Everyone, please double-check your Shipping Labels and System Info immediately.

Ugh, this is pretty discouraging and egregious on the part of Woot. Mine is supposed to arrive today after being trekked around the entire country due to an "unreadable label", so not even confident that it will arrive in one piece. This deal is seeming more and more like your typical case of too good to be true, unfortunately.
Hopefully they make it right in your case, and quick.

Well, seems like my fears were unfounded. Received the PC yesterday and all of the parts appear to be what was advertised and mostly quality apart from the HD which is a "meh" WD SN3000. Below are the components in my PC, for reference:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
MB: PRO B650- VC WIFI II
RAM: 32GB (2x 16) T-force Vulcan DDR5 6000
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ventus 3x
HD: WD3000N 2TB

Runs pretty smoothly thus far. My only complaint are the fans which seem to spin up completely randomly. Been playing around with the fan settings in BIOS and MSI center but haven't had any luck yet with quieting them down.

Betting most everyone received theirs and it was as described, but if you haven't the good news is you're not destined to end up with inferior parts or a completely different spec altogether.

Congratulations on receiving the correct unit! It's a relief to know that at least some people are getting exactly what they paid for.
I am currently in a heated negotiation with Woot regarding a partial refund because they claim they are out of replacement stock.
To be honest, I would much rather have the actual 9900X/5070 unit you received instead of any monetary compensation. My semester has already started and I desperately need the performance I originally ordered. It's frustrating to see such a huge disparity in what's being shipped out. Enjoy your new PC!

I received mine the other day as well and it also came with the correct PRO B650- VC MB. All other parts look as advertised and seems to run well so far. Hope this helps in your case with Woot.
