Believe you guys know what you are buying. These are cheap but really slow....
I have been using Fire HD 10 (9th Gen, 2019) for few years, and now finding it glitchy lately since last year or so. My son have given up using it to play Roblox. Now I only use it to watch YouTube and local media occasionally, but it's noticeably slow when opening/switching apps.
Fire HD 10 (11th Gen, 2021), shares the same aging MediaTek MT8183 processor, could perform a little bit better given its 3GB/4GB RAM (vs 2GB in 2019 peer). But I am doubtful how capable will it be after further OS updates....
I know this deal is insanely cheap. But for those looking for low-end tablet working decently, I would suggest to look for models equiped with MediaTek G99 at least, if budget allows...

The description for both Slate versions (32 & 64gb) on the site states that they have 3gb ram, so be cautious if expecting 4gb ram.

Yes, there are sites that you can download direct and install onto tablet
And based on previous deals, the slate version has 4gb of ram for being a special version

I am using the Fire HD 10 (11th Gen, 2021) Slate version with 4GB of RAM, not that bad if you just use it to watch Youtube or surf the internet.
If someone used it after a while and it slow down, you might want to try do a factory reset.

Thanks and Good to know. Then the 4GB RAM is making a difference.

I think Woot just listed the "slate" model together as standard model.
But the Slate is called "Fire HD 10 Plus" (2021), this Plus model has 4 GB of RAM.
All other colors (black, blue, lavender, olive green) are the standard model which only has 3 GB.

I need a monitor for a DJ controller and was thinking along the lines of this. I have a Chromebox running linux that would need to output to it. Can these be used as an external monitor? Probably still on the small side.

I use the slate model with wireless charging, I tape/glue a magsafe magnet on the back and hook it up to a magsafe charger as a cheap Home Assistant dashboard with kiosk mode.
Plenty of CPU for a simple home assistant app.

First off, I have an older model bought new. First thing I did was download two side apps that together made it a full android tablet. Video is excellent. I occasionally have a glitch on long term Zoom calls but otherwise it works fine for me (my wife has an older iPad sixth generation that I needed to quickly use twice for those Zoom calls). I use it primarily today as a companion for football watching secondary games as my TV handles the primary. I would recommend for these purposes but not for primary work or gaming. Finally, be warned that this is five years old now and typical refurbishing does not include battery replacement. Thus, plan on using it plugged in.

This tablet has been sitting in the corner due to outdated performance.

But lately I have been thinking if I can use this as a wyze security monitor display?

Anyone have done something similar and know if this can be accomplished?

I tried using Tinycam pro. It didn't recognize the device.

Wow cheapest I've seen. Cheap but decent enough, for YouTube, web browsing, etc. Also, while you don't want to happen, losing this hurts a little less compared to very pricey tablet.
