The "2 hi-gain omnidirectional microphones" play in both ears making them essentially mono, with no directional audio.

Fine for the range, not so great anywhere else you want to know which direction a sound is coming from.

When the 4A is gone I'll still have my 2A.

you'll still want the in ear foam too if you're thinking about the LRAD being used daily now.

It's more than 2x not just couple more dollars.

They will, although more overkill than you need. These are made for quick loud noise suppression like firearms.

Plain earmuffs are good for lawnmowers.

I'm assuming these are primarily marketed and designed for 2A. Has anyone used them in a shop setting for power tools? Are they still effective in that use case, or are they better tuned to loud, brief impulse noises?
I wear a pair of these when I'm using loud pneumatic nail guns. Works really well!

I would say they would be 'adequate' for lawn mower equipment but probably not right for the application. These have a built in amplifier that amplifies human voices and natural sounds BUT block gun shots and other loud sounds very rapidly. Ideally they work as normal ear muffs...but so do the cheap $3.99 set at Harbor Freight. This is a great deal for this brand, I've seem them be up to 60-80 bucks when they first came out. Just realized Harbor has a cheap $13.99 version of noise cancelling headphones similar to these...I mean they aren't Walkers so they may not be tacticool at the range but would be fantastic if you were trying to equip a while fam for occasional use in the back yard.
If I had a bigger yard and spent more time mowing, I would probably look at using a pair of bluetooth enabled ear muffs so I could listen to music or a podcast. 3M makes a model that could do that, also while trying to find it on Menards site, I see they have a Mastercraft brand that also is a bluetooth ear muff design. Just a suggestion, as it better suits your needs. These would work, but for the cost I would aim to spend a little more and get a bluetooth enabled pair for entertainment purposes.

Are these good without the batteries?

I want to use them for extremely noise places (like my gym, for some reason people them like to put the gym music to the max and my heart almost vibratea from the sound ffs)

I don't plan on using them for shooting

That was my question. I have a pair of others that are directional and they're excellent. I'd get another pair for 20 bucks.

Thanks, I was hoping to pick up a pair for hunting, but mono channel is a no go for situational awareness. Even when others are trying to talk to you and you have no idea from which direction. Annoying.
I never use over eat muffs for hunting. They get in the way of the stock too often, are bulky, and just get sweaty. I would suggest some in ear plug style. There are electronic in ear ones, but I haven't found any I love yet. I had the Caldwell Shadows and Shadow Pros. They work but have issues. I actually like the non-electronic Surefire ones and they're cheap (fine for dove/waterfowl). For big game, the around the neck ones are fine, just throw them in before you shoot.
These are great for the range tho.

They will provide good isolation without batteries. You will get better isolation from the similar Walker's muffs that are passive only and cost about $14 right now:

Spend a couple more dollars and get the Savior Apollo ear muffs with the gel cups and stereo mic. Gel cups alone are worth a half box of ammo, esp in summertime use. Stereo mic so you know which way to turn when there's a fudd RSO barking at the back of your head for not waiting long enough between shots lol
The Savior Apollos are great! Excellent for hunting. I bought a pair a couple of years ago for $17 on an Amazon sale and should have bought more.
Just used their 3 year warranty, too - for some reason they just stopped working one day recently, so I contacted them and they had me cut the headband and the wiring and had me send a picture of the disabled set. They shipped a brand new set to me the next day. Great customer service.

these are really good earmuffs for the range, and the ability to speak to each other clearly while having the noise cancellation is great.

Well, when you're trying to one-up someone, the facts aren't important.

Not tryna "one-up" anyone. I get this is Slickdeals but anyone who's into shooting sports (which these electro ear pros are marketed towards and designed for) and cry over the cost of a box or two of ammo on something you're gonna wear and use every time you enjoy range time... Doesn't make sense to me.

Lolol so they made sure you weren't lying and just tryna cop a new set. Made you destroy your current one before they shipped out a replacement. Smart cookies they are

These have a lot of static when you crank the volume. Unavoidable.
