Even if it gets used once, it pays for itself versus:
• A tow
• A jump service
• Waiting on someone else
Made in Japan Panasonic battery can last +8 years. Made in USA Duracell/East Penn at Sams is good for about 5 years. A battery jump starter is useless if there is excessive resistance at the + battery cable, - battery cable, or starter solenoid.

I can't tell you how many times it has helped me jump start cars, trucks, atv's... You name it.
IT is amazing. The boost button really helps but usually just the regular (non boosted) jump will get you going.
HIGHLY recommended to have.

Really? I think it has boost, that's the one I have owned for years and it works amazing. Most of the time didn't even need boost.
The boost feature enables you to jumpstart a completely depleted battery at or near zero voltage. I would not waste my money on one of these devices without that feature, since you really won't know if your battery is completely dead or not until you need to jumpstart it, and at that point if you don't have the boost feature and doesn't start because of it, you will be kicking yourself in the ass!

The cable does NOT have a boost button. However, that doesn't matter if you understand what the boost feature actually does. Normally, the circuitry that's part of the cable, where the relay is, checks if the battery voltage is above 9V before the relay is turned on supplies power to your car's battery. This is indicated by the blinking green light turning solid green and the relay clicking on. If your battery is very dead where the voltage is below 9V, it'll keep blinking green and there's no output from the jump starter. Pressing the boost button will bypass the check and will let the jump starter supply power to your battery. The P10's cable does not have this check and fully powers the battery, so there is need for this boost functionality. The term is entirely a marketing thing to make you think "boost = power!!!".
I tested all this with along with an AstroAI S8 1500A (which has the boost feature) on a dead battery that only has 8.75V. The P10 will simply turns solid green and I get 16V at the battery terminal. The S8 will do nothing and keep blinking green until I press the boost button and the relay clicks and I get 16V. Both jump starters are exactly identical in terms of specs, despite one being sold as 5000A. There are zero markings anywhere on the boxes, manual, or the starter brick that says "5000A" or anything relating to cranking current.
