In case you were wondering like I was about the differences between regular Kikkoman and Kikkoman Amakuchi. Per Amazon AI

Amakuchi (Sweet/Mild Soy Sauce):

Sweeter taste: Contains high fructose corn syrup and licorice, making it noticeably sweeter than regular soy sauce
Milder flavor: Less intense saltiness with a more balanced, gentle profile
Additional ingredients: Includes disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate for enhanced umami
Japanese market version: Often imported directly from Japan with Japanese labeling

Regular Kikkoman (Koikuchi):

Traditional savory taste: Classic salty, umami-rich flavor without added sweeteners
More intense: Stronger, more pronounced soy sauce flavor
Simpler ingredients: Typically just water, soybeans, wheat, and salt
Standard brewing: Traditional fermentation without flavor enhancers

Customers describe Amakuchi as having a "rich flavor" that's "not overly salty" and appreciate its authentic Japanese taste. It's particularly popular for dishes where you want soy sauce flavor without overwhelming saltiness, like sushi rice, delicate fish dishes, or when cooking for those who prefer milder flavors.

Soy sauce that looks like it's in a water bottle? How odd.

I'd say like 80% of asian soy sauces come in a bottle like that or similar to it. At least from my journeys into asian markets

Just what we need: HFCS in our very over-priced soy sauce. Geez.
