I love Spam but I can regularly get a can at Walmart for $3.50 or less. And a can has six servings It almost makes more sense to buy a can and throw away what you don't eat.

74 cents per oz vs 20 cents per oz for the cans today.
Pretty outrageous markup.
I thought the single serving might be useful to pack in a lunch with microwave rice or a roll, but microwaved spam squeezed out of the pack is pretty grim. Better to open the can, fry it up with soy sauce, keep in fridge at least a week.
Great Value Luncheon Meat is $2 per can and I prefer it. No added starch like Hormel spam.

The last time i had a single, it tasted awful. The singles used to blow the canned version outta the water. Not sure what happened but i wtick to cans now. Plus it's cheaper.

Price and notoriety aside, these SPAM singles are actually a good backcountry camping / backpacking food -- single servings, minimal packaging, packability, ability to eat without cooking, high caloric density, etc.

Seeing this reminds me of the M*A*S*H* episode where Hawkeye and BJ had to sell a bathtub. They ended up getting scotch and at the last minute added a case of Spam to the deal as a joke.
