How does a company afford to give out hundreds of millions+ to over a billion burgers for free? to members of their loyalty program app. Small & medium businesses would never do that.

I am pretty sure some of that pot of $ used is from all those times I ate at Hardee's when they had BOGO deals on their burgers. They are subsidizing freebies at Carl's Jr. by taking from the Hardee's customers (rewards members).
