These things are huge and rear ported so plan on having at least 2 feet of depth to keep them off the wall a bit - if not close to 3ft.
Definitely not a tower speaker for smaller spaces.
How so / why? I have these in a small ish room in a new build home theater / living room space, and the back of the tower is about 6 inches from the wall.

Mine are 3 inches from the wall, had them this way for five years. They sound great.

Do anyone who ordered the Klipsch RP-8000F II speaker pair for $849.00 on 1/30/2026, have a "Shipped" status yet? My status is still "In-process" as of 2/1/2026 12:30 PM.

no sub for me either. i got in on a past deal at $399 each speaker. there's no need for me to get a sub. more than enough bass. i eventually added a $300 504C2 center channel and some surrounds for atmos. really great speakers. they replaced a samsung Q990D soundbar that i moved into the guest room.
504c2 for $300. It's great price. When and where did you bought that?

Short of it is, bass reflex speakers (rear-ported) are tuned to get the proper balance by bouncing part of the low frequency sound waves off the wall. If there isn't enough space, you're not allowing the speakers to work as tuned (designed). This can cause what is often called "muddy" mid-bass sound. The better the speakers, the more it matters to get the "best" sound out of them.

However, everyone's tolerance and room setup are different. Some people want bass traps in the corners, cross-over low frequencies to their subwoofers, room treatment at every reflection point, etc. If you're happy with it as you have it, that's all that matters.

I assume this is a longshot, but worth a try for anyone interested in Walnut. I bought this pair in Walnut right before Christmas, but I think I would rather have Ebony. It's outside of the return window for me to do an exchange. I haven't even opened the package so they are new in box. I live in Wichita, KS. If anybody in a neighboring city is wanting Walnut, and wants to do a buy and trade, I would be interested in a possible meetup.

The odd part is I don't know of a way to test if I'm actually 'happy' with how it is. I can say that I did buy the top of the RP line from adorama and also the RP1600sw. Using a Denon X6800H and calibrated it with the in amp Audyssey program. It sounds great and the 16 inch sub shakes the foundation of my home.

Don't want this to sound stupid… I just don't understand how the bass correlates to the speakers, when I always understood that the subwoofer itself handled the 'boom' / LFE.

My current setup is 2x RP8000f ii, 1x RP504c ii, 4x RP600m ii, 1x RP1600sw, using a Denon X6800H receiver. 77 inch LG G3 OLED.

Audyssey calibrated the front and center to full range, and surround / surround back to 60hz.

Easiest way is position the speakers further away where practical and listen.
Every environment and person is different so there is no universal correct/right answer.

The sub you can do a "sub crawl" and just listen where it would be practical also.

If you're not using the Editor app, highly recommend getting it, well worth the $20.
Best to use it iPad/tablet or laptop but will work on phone.

If Audyssey sets the same results. I suggest trying crosses at 60hz or 80hz.
In the app I would suggest turning off mid compensation for all the speakers.

I would also highly suggest looking into A1EVO Express.
It gives you pretty much Dirac RC performance for free!

Is there any price protection if you got them last week on the $850 deal?
