OP did already say "valid till 7/11/2026" which gives you 4+ months to spend $20. Doesn't seem that hard of a quest.

Amazon credits get used automatically (so you don't have to remember), but because of that, I've never noticed what they can and can't be used on. I'm guessing its just the stuff that they don't ship (i.e. that doesn't qualify for prime).

PLUS, if you return an item paid for with an Amazon credit, typically you don't get it refunded as where a gift card payment does go back to your GC balance on the website.
That's why it's always wise to spend your credit on items you KNOW you're going to keep like household, pet food, grocery items, etc.

All your points are why I specifically did not deduct the credit or prepaid card from the price, a lot of people see them as a non discount.
