I wanted to like these, but in my experience, if you put any non-water drinks in it, after cup #1 you definitely get more of a "metal taste" that's very noticeable. No thank you.

I really like the lidless Stanley beer steins, but lidded mugs like this always feel so awkward to drink from.

That shouldn't happen with stainless steel and beer. If it does, it's either a sign of very poor quality stainless steel, or detergent or sanitizer residue not completely washed off. Now, if you put high acid beverages like lemonade, margaritas, orange juice, etc. in there, yeah, but that's user error.
