I have the brushless version of this saw. If it were me, I would wait for a deal on the brushless and pass on this one. I had issues with the non-brushless one and ended up returning it and paying the difference for the brushless.

What kind of issues? I know brushless is a little better, but most folks probably won't notice a difference. What issues did you have?

I have one of these I bought refurbished for about the same price. I've treated it very poorly, left it in the dirt, etc. It's held up great. I could see getting a brushless version for a little more power, more robust construction, or less dust intrusion, but a fresh blade makes more difference to me. I'd run one of these into the ground to find out if I need an upgrade first.
