The TCL QM7K is being framed as a strong value 75 inch mini LED TV, with noticeably better picture and color than cheaper sets and solid picture quality for around $1,000. The latest firmware and Google TV platform add to the appeal, and the current price has been sitting near this level for a while, with a possible 10 percent back offer through Prime cards. The main hesitation is that some would rather step up to the QM8K or an OLED for more brightness and refinement, and TCL reliability and panel uniformity concerns still linger. A compelling midrange pick if you want big screen performance without moving into premium pricing.
Common Questions (5)
Basic picture adjustments are strongly recommended because factory settings can be far off. Using RTINGS settings or a calibration disc can improve the image a lot, while true professional calibration requires specialized tools and deeper adjustments.
Yes. The QM7K is described as strong picture quality for about $1,000, with noticeably better color and image quality than cheaper models. It is also framed as the best picture-quality-per-dollar option if you do not need the QM8K's extra brightness, dimming zones, and thinner bezels.
The QM8K is the brighter, more premium model with more dimming zones and thinner bezels, but the QM7K is the better value if you do not need those extras. At the same size, the QM8K can cost about 50% more, so it is not just a small step up.
If you are already considering the QM8K price range, an OLED like the LG B5 or C5 is suggested as the better buy unless you specifically need very high brightness for bright rooms or sunlight. The QM7K is still positioned as the better value when staying near the $1,000 mark.
Yes, a limited-time 10% back checkout offer can appear for Prime Store/VISA cardholders. It may not show if you do not have a Prime Store/VISA card, so the offer is tied to that payment method.

The problem is that most TV buyers are ignorant of how to calibrate a TV! Most Tvs are horrendously bad out of the factory. Rtings.com is great on how to calibrate a TV out of the box. It's not difficult to do. My son complained about a tv he bought, and when I told him to go to this website and calibrate, he was amazed at the difference!
