This truly irritates me. We take what is arguably a key skill-development element of a game, and remove it in the pursuit of a dubious "NO CASH, NO COUNTING, ALL FUN" objective. This is how societies become dumber over time - through minute, almost imperceptible changes that de-skill the populace. And to add insult to injury, we shoehorn screen-time into what is otherwise an extremely fun family-interactive game. I'm sorry, but this is insidious capitalism.
--------------- End of Rant / Dismounting soapbox -----------

Rant aside, if you like this approach to family games, seems like a solid deal.

Another digital trinket. "You will own nothing and be happy" wasn't just an exaggeration by the WEF. It is the dystopian future we never chose, enabled by faceless corporations and fraudulently selected politicians who entertain us while the ship sinks

Funny how you're downvoted. But seriously like what's the point of a board game at that point? Might as well just play a video game. Honestly trying to get into more tabletop stuff and throwing digital elements into it just suck away that feeling

And for no additional charge, I am sure it comes with a incomprehensible EULA that gaves them the right to track your location and behaviours, that they can then sell to data brokers.

I'll stick with my air-gapped tabletop version, where they don't get to know where I am and I can play using New York rules!

I'd argue, we probably shouldn't rely on corporations product to teach us the basic skills. I'd be good if they can, but our society (especially in the US) has failed to teach basic necessary life skills. In fact, if anything, our entire economy and country depends on it. So maybe they didn't fail, and it's by design to enslave you.
