Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank rmplatt

If anyone's unfamiliar, these containers have whole chunks of meat in them, mixed with veggies in a broth, which I'm sure has added nutrients. We use this as a topper to get our picky dog to eat. We use a heaping teaspoon on top of our regular kibble. Each tin lasts us about two days. If this was your main food you'd go thru it quickly. 2-4 a day imo.

Yeah, you get 4-5 teaspoons per container. 1 teaspoon is enough to get a huge chunk of meat fish or chicken then some small stuff and broth to mix in with the regular food. I read the label, it's 2-4 cups a day per 5 pounds of your dog, so our 11lb Havanese could get by with one pack 2x/day. A 50 lb Shepard would need 20 of these a day...

I have a 9 lb dog... I have had good luck buying a rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods ( ingredients is only salt and pepper) -- ( Costco chicken has all kinds of ingredients that I am not sure why) ... giving it quick rinse to eliminate as much salt as possible.. shredding / pulling the meat from the bone, then freezing the pieces ( parchment paper on baking sheet, then later dumping in ziplock bag)

Then every day I just warm up the chicken with frozen veggies ( peas and carrots ) sometimes some red or green peppers, and a little bone broth... then a small scoop of expensive kibble [amazon.com] - this will last a few months

works out great, little dogs been doing good with it

I am sure if your dog is huge, this would be an expensive endeavor, and it's why I have a tiny pooch
