What am I missing? This seems like a great deal for anyone trying to extend wired internet to an ADU or outdoors in general.

For home use, it's probably easier to just get a cat 6 cable than deal with fiber, spend on the gbics etc. plus average home user is going to get frustrated with fiber and the fiber mode compatibility. of course if you have a super long run and you know the components, yeah, go for it.

Sure, if you love lightning following your cat 6 across.
For home use, I use LR or SR and never once care what mode or class of fiber I'm using. It is very forgiving at these speeds.
Cen get Gbics by the bag full on ebay

Generally you need two of these to make it work unless your switch has a fiber sfp.

Bless you for taking me seriously. Even my family doesn't take anything I say seriously.
Repped for your kindness.
