Ryobi's 18V ONE plus cordless 3 8 inch crown stapler stands out as a fast, reliable tool for insulation, Tyvek, attic baffles, posters, decorations, furniture assembly, and other high volume stapling jobs. It is praised for driving staples consistently, avoiding jams, and running well on a 2 amp hour battery. The depth adjustment and simple trigger make it easy to use, though it is a bit heavy and front heavy when resting on the battery. The main caution is that it only shoots 3 8 inch staples, and there is a reported failure after warranty expiration. A solid compact stapler for frequent stapling tasks.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It has been used successfully for attic baffles, insulation, Tyvek sheeting, flat-pack furniture, wall art, posters, chicken wire, and even wrapping complete homes. It is also reported to drive staples reliably through long runs without frequent jams.
It is reported to run for years without jamming, even after thousands of staples and with old rusty staples. One failure report says the motor burned out right after warranty and the internal mechanisms cracked, so long-term durability can vary.
It is heavier than older manual staplers and can feel front-heavy when resting on the battery, which may make long overhead holds tiring. It is still described as easier to use than hand staplers for repetitive work.
No. It only drives 3/8" staples and cannot shoot brad nails.
Yes. It is reported to work fine on a 2Ah battery, so a heavier 4Ah pack is not necessary for typical use.

I've been eyeing this one for a couple of years. I don't use a stapler too often, but when I do, I use it on hard wood. Hand staplers don't cut it, pneumatics are out, and electric is better, but not good enough. The best one I have has an itchy trigger and often double-fires. I'm anxious to give this one a try.

Sorry, I gotta ask... you're using a staple gun to put plastic over windows?
