Just wanted to note that while this is 'faster' than the UDM Pro SE, it does not have POE.

i have an older model and it's freakin amazing. If you want to provide your home network with a bit more security protection and easy management of all devices, Ubiquiti has done a fantastic job.

The title should be "Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro Max" so it doesn't get confused with the Pro Max switches.

Dang. This is good price. I was in need about 5 weeks ago since I upgraded my internet to 5GB Fiber. Hopefully the switches come down in price too. So far no issues.

Curious what people do when they upgrade > 1 GB internet: In home, office, or large workplace with many others? What's your networking/switch infrastructure, since 5GB isn't that common - did you buy a 5GB switch that your ISP's modem goes into? Etc...

I use the ISP's provided ONT's and I have the Dream Machine Pro Max with a Pro XG 24 Poe switch and a U7 enterprise AP and a pair of the XGS AP's. And I can get my full 5Gb over WIFI using my OnePlus 15. I run a bunch of servers from home for off-site backup for a few friends and businesses. And the Dream Machine Pro Max does great even with 3 ISP's connected to it. In my case a 5Gb plan and a 2Gb plan with 5G fail over. However the 5G in my area gets a max of around 500Mb so setting a 1Gb lan port to wan worked out for me.

Edit: typo

I am hoping they will make a new version with some of the features of their Cloud Gateway Fiber. So 2.5Gb lan ports with PoE. And with faster advertised IPS routing. Etherlighting would be nice too. The fortress gateway is a massive feature/price step up from the Dream Machine Pro Max so they have some room for something in between. However adding 2.5Gb and PoE might hurt sales of their switches.

Fascinating. IThree ISPs strictly for redundancy, yes? No ability to have each going concurrently?
Do you have the Pro SE or the DMP Max?
A phone at 500MB/s. What a world.

I sometimes wish I got the Pro XG, but the $700 in my wallet says otherwise (vs the 2.5 POE 24 port model, hd max or whatever), with the 6 10GB ports for servers and such.

Lol yes they are, just adding more steps it so it looks like they're not.
Two pillars, same global monopoly controlling them.

SE is a better buy. Both came out years ago, I suspect a refresh is coming soon.

Sorry, Dream Machine Pro Max. I use the 3 ISP's for redundancy. With IPS/IDF enabled it can do 5Gb. If you disable IPS/IDF it can do almost 10Gb. So 7.5Gb with my 3 connections should be possible. But for my use i want to keep the IPS/IDF feature. I probably would have been fine with a Pro XG 8 or 10. But you never know what the future will bring. I had the Pro Max 24 PoE before and i found out quickly that the 8x 2.5 ports were not enough. I am still using that for my camera's. And the 1Gb ports on the dream machines work great for IPMI and printers.

https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/udm-pro-max
Qty:8 1GBe
Qty:1 2.5GBe
Qty:2 10GB SFP+

The idea is if you have a fast 10GBe network you'll either put your slow stuff on the built in 1GBe or ignore it for STP reasons, and then put everything on a 10GBe switch connected via those SFP+ ports.

When I moved to 2.5GB LAN that's what I did - bought a $999 24 port POE++ HD MAX whatever from Ubiquiti, and then used SFP+ to connect my UDMP and the 2.5GBe switch.

Most even remotely serious networking hardware (at faster speeds) will have SFP+ or higher on it for connection to other networking equipment.
