In case you're wondering, yes a modern phone camera will be better than this camera. I guess you could give this to an older relative who's used to using a point and shoot camera or if you need to save your phone battery and image quality isn't a priority.
Pretty much ANY smartphone from the last five years is going to be better than this. Number of megapixels isn't the be-all-end-all qualifier of quality. And at least with the smartphone, you have a large bright screen for composition, network connectivity for easy export, and oh... it's a smartphone too.

Some people are trying to reduce screen time. Standalone cameras are good for children who want to take photos whilst on vacation. Sure, I have an old PowerShot, but it doesn't recharge via USB and is clunky. I would love to buy a digital phone with Pixel-level image quality but without the phone part. But they don't exist.
