this "isolate" 25g protein in 36g scoop
nutricost isolate is 30g in 35g scoop https://www.amazon.com/Nutricost-...B01HOPJAAE
ascent blend is 25g in 33g scoop https://www.costco.com/p/-/ascent.../100985271

70% protein by weight is kinda low for isolate (25g/36g serving). Do all those fillers mean it tastes good?

Also higher calorie - 140cal with 100 of those from protein, again high for isolate. But, sometimes those fillers make it taste better.

I also generally prefer sucralose to stevia - tastes better, although I realize that is an unpopular opinion around here.

This isn't an isolate for all intents and purposes, that saturated fat content defeats the purpose of getting an isolate, and it's mildly worrying that they don't list the cholesterol content even though that's a required part of the nutrition label.

I'm going to get one bag just to see if it has it on the actual basg when I get it in, as I'm curious.

In my sample size of one, this is untrue.

First time I went from cutting to bulking, the only thing I really did to my diet was switching my 1-2 five egg omelettes a day from egg white to whole egg (a lotta eggs).

After the next cholesterol test, I stopped doing that.

It made a huge difference. But, that doesn't make it true for everyone - I might just be weirdly sensitive to egg cholesterol.

In the product description they mention adding 3 grams of MCT powder. From looking at other MCT products online, they all are very high (70-80%) in saturated fat, but they all also have 0 cholesterol. It's entirely plausible this just does not have any cholesterol as most of the Whey Protein Isolates are near or at 0 mg.

Cholesterol is likely to be low, but you are correct that they should print it.

MCT Oil, Sunflower Lechitin, and/or Sodium Caseinate can all explain the extra saturated fat. However, all three of these are low in cholesterol.

That said, I've determined it isn't a great deal.

At 3.4 cents per gram of protein, it's a good, but not great deal. There are have been and will be better values for isolates or high-isolate blends. The recent Quest deal was one of them at about 2.8 cents per gram of protein.

You can usually get pure isolate from Canadian Bulk Protein for 3.4 cents per gram, everyday.

I see a 15% off coupon for first S&S, bringing me pre-tax total to $45. Seems like a decent deal. But I already have enough protein to last me the next 6 months, at least.

I actually had never even heard of them till now, are there good third party tests out there on their products? They seem awesome, and they have a flavor I've always wished was more common, strawberry banana xD

I believe they are reputable.

I don't really believe in third party testing. Seems like classic institutional capture - the companies being tested pay for the testing. If you do, CBP has it, down to the lot.

Also, Canada food regulation is stronger than most sources.

That said, my last order was turned back at the border due to recent political events. Not CBP's fault, and I got my money back, but frustrating.

Oof, good thing I've got like 5-6 months build up now, things are either gonna chill by then, or be so bad that I won't have to worry about protein isolate, thanks for the recommendation, I'm definitely going to keep them in my bookmarks.

Any standout flavors you've loved from them?

Can you provide a link to the Canadian bulk protein? If buying from the US, I'm guessing there are tariffs that would apply.

I had this price too. It comes out to 2.6 cents per gram of protein which is a good deal.

I've only had their vanilla. Not great, not awful, just there. Kinda like Nutricost isolate.

Dutch Choco is the best tasting choc of all the years of protein powder I've consumed. Beats ON Whey by a mile. Tastes better than Syntha-6 which is known for their great flavors.
