Cybervelo EK11 is a budget fat tire e bike that stands out for strong torque, quiet operation, and surprisingly quick street speed, with real world reports of about 31.5 mph on flat ground and solid hill holding. It also has upgrade friendly hardware, including room for a rear rack, easier display swaps, and a suspension setup that can be improved with better brakes and a real rear shock. The main drawback is the battery labeling, since the 30Ah version tested at about 19Ah to 20Ah and the seller reportedly offered only a small refund. Fit can also be awkward for shorter riders, and the front light bracket may need adjustment to avoid limiting fork travel.

  • Tall riders who want a customizable project bike, because the frame has room for rack, shock, and display upgrades and the front fork can be corrected for better travel.

  • Riders who want a cheap full-suspension base for upgrades, because the stock setup is easy to swap to hydraulic brakes, a better shock, and a rear rack.

  • Battery testers who want to verify pack capacity, because the battery can be checked with a tester and the capacity result was around 20Ah.

  • Commuters needing strong hill help and quick neighborhood speed, because the motor delivers good torque and holds over 25 mph on most inclines.

  • Riders expecting a true 30Ah battery, because the pack tested at about 19Ah and was described as mislabeled.

  • Short riders who need easy mounting, because the seat height makes getting a foot over the bike difficult around 5'5" and 5'7".

  • People who want strong stock brakes and suspension, because the mechanical brakes are weak and the fork and shock need upgrades to ride well.

  • Buyers who need a motor-controller setup that matches the advertised power, because the controller appears undersized for the claimed 1000W motor.

Mine arrived and I set it up! For 317 dollars it's a 20 out of 10!

Initial impressions:
1. Good torque and relatively quiet.
2. It got my 240 ib ex football player ass up to 31.5 MPH on totally FLAT ground. It will hold over 25 on all but steep inclines.
3. I got this bike cuz my E20 is a hardtail and my back feels every crack in the road....This bike rides great even with my fat ass...with 1 slight drawback. The front forks hit just a little too hard for off road use.
4. Setting up leisurely, took 45 mins... just make sure to wet your tires with soapy water at the bead to help ensure even seating.(tires come deflated...and it was cold..so deformed too)
5. The ONLY major detractor... was mechanical brakes....and I can get a set of 4 piston hydraulic for 55 on aliexpress.
6. This bike has potential to pimp out a rear rack behind the seat (the seat frame has 2 holes with threads on each side) I bet I can also fit a normal hailong under the seat for more range. I should also get a fat person adjustable shock to replace the stock one. I also have a color S866 display lying around. This controller does NOT HAVE watts monitoring function.. The only real challenge is to wire in a set of rear brake/tail/signal lights.. there is a plate under the front to hide the wires.

Overall I am VERY happy . Even if I didn't get to charge to full because it started to rain/sleet...so it cut the charge short at 53 5v to take it for a spin.
I will now charge it fully and test the battery with my atorch battery capacity tester.. and see what the real capacity is. And let you guys know. Let Me know if you have any questions.
It's cool that you followed up with the deets. I see that your battery has a capacity of 19ah when you ordered the 30ah. I feel like that # is too coincidentally close to 20ah enough to assume they gave you a 20 instead of are shorting the internals of the 30ah to coincidentally be that close to 20ah but still wonder how the 20s would test. Anyways, do you have any other thoughts on the bike? I'm short (5'4'') do you think I'd be able to use it as I assume those seats aren't adjustable?

Riding no problem....getting your foot over the seat probably a problem. My wife is 5'5 she can touch tippy toes...my 13 year old is 5-7 and he touches his whole front of his foot. Both expressed difficulty getting on. Both loved riding it.
Yes cybervelo admitted they 'mislabeled' "MY" battery, but they refuse to send me a real 30ah one.. and would only refund the sale difference between the 2 models...which apparently to their calculations..was 11 dollars. 19ah falls within spec of a good 20ah battery because I stopped the test at 40v as not to trip the BMS or damage the battery. I wholeheartedly believe there is no '30ah' battery, because it is impossible to fit 30ah worth of cells in the case WITH THE CONTROLLER spot built in the base. Yes not all of that visual 'Battery' is actually cells...the controller is located in the Hailong base...which is covered and contained in the battery when installed.
The biggest negative I found is easy to correct if you are even slightly mechanically inclined is the front head light. The lights mounting bracket only allows the front fork to compress 2 inches before it hits the fork crossmember. In order to fix this....turn the bracket 90 degrees so instead of vertical it's horizontal on the top of the fork bottom support. Drill 2 holes through the brackets slots in the support and use 2 black self tapping screws to hold the bracket.. This moves it out of the way so the front forks crossmember doesn't hit the light bracket and you can use more than 1/3 of the forks travel. When assembled per cybervelo, it sounds and feels like the fork Is bottoming out...It's not.. The front fork has good range (I'm 6'2 240 and I've only bottomed out once hitting a curb after fixing it) Even a youtuber failed to realize what was wrong and ordered an air fork.
I also changed the 'shock' as its just a spring with a fake tank...with a real shock....Makes quite a difference at 20mph+ speeds...as you don't bounce.
The stock shock is 180mm long....(rare) I put a 190mm one on...and it lifted it about an inch at the seat. you could put a 165mm on and drop it 1.5 inches no problem!

Great Bike if you wanted to customize it! Sorry you missed the sale.

I'm awaiting 4 piston hydraulic brakes, a cargo rack and a tailight kit to finish the bike.

Ok that is good info thanks. I think you are probably right on the 30ah battery. It's cool tht you are upgrading it. I feel a cargo rack is a must because getting groceries on an ebike is cool, hope yours works out =D
