The black finish may or may not be a true oxide/phosphate finish like real impacts, and will probably have a thin oil coating which is slightly messier. For a home gamer they'll probably hold up ok (I use them to break lug nuts loose etc), but your standard chrome ones probably would too.
I have 2 of these sets (different locations). Very happy with them and still shocked at the value for the $.
