While this is a possibility, the product will either fail quality assurance or be cheaped out in so many ways that it will only look like the real brand while just be filled with junk.

One thing to keep in mind is that the battery is also not going to be as safe. Pretty stupid to buy one of these and then it cause a house fire or cause a plane to catch on fire...EEK!

Those replacement heads are crazy expensive compared to other brands. And that you can by the unit with replacement heads for 1/2 the price is just insane.

Oral-B is number 1 in the world can be various of reasons. Marketing through commercial ads, dentists' push or they are a more well established brand. I've seen more Oral-B 'recommendation' from dentist than sonicare. It could be that they are really better or Oral-B pays dentists for advertisement. Not saying they are bad but who knows the real reason.

Yes you are partially right, but its still the best toothbrush because of the "spin" mechanism and like you said. Thats why you see more Orab-B than Sonicare.
