The SSD is high quality but keep it mind it has a heatsink so you may have clearance issues depending on your motherboard/enclosure. You can remove the heatsink but I believe it will void the warranty.

Not a dumb question at all. It's a reasonable question. Yes, this will work with pretty much any modern PC that has an available NVMe slot. Primary reason this is branded for PS5 is because NVMe's come in various speeds (and for most "general" PC use, the speed is not as big of a factor). But PS5 REQUIRES higher speed NVMe SSD's, so that is why this one is marketed and branded as being compatible for PS5. Hope that helps.
