These mini's are great! But I'd be inclined to go with the higher performing CPU in the KAMRUI Pinova P2 Mini for about the same price ($367 at checkout). Despite this GMKtec having the higher DDR5 Ram the total performance of the Kamrui with DDR4 Ram is superior. The i5-12600H CPU has 12 cores vs only 6 cores on the Ryzen PRO 6650H. And the Kamrui unit also has more ports.

Lol even an average 10 years old office laptop can do Dolphin in 1080p these days.

Nah. 12600H is probably better for multi-thread workloads, because of more cores (4P+8E)...
But, as for gaming:
  • The 6650H iGPU (660M) smokes the 96eu i7-12700, and the one you listed only has 80EU, so way worse... (https://www.tomshardware.com/news...benchmarks)
  • The GMKTec has USB4 and Oculink for eGPUs... The Kamrui has no expansion possibilities.
Also, I bet the 12600H gets hot AF with loud fans or is power limited. TDP is around 100W (Intel always lies on their TDPs)... 6650H is around 50W.

The Intel Core i5-12600H is generally superior to the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 6650H for raw performance, offering 12 cores (4P+8E) and 16 threads compared to the 6-core/12-thread AMD chip. The i5-12600H delivers better multi-threaded performance, making it better for demanding tasks, while the 6650H is a 6nm, efficient, professional-focused chip. This video provides a technical comparison between the Intel Core i5-12600H and AMD Ryzen 5 6600H

I bought this one a couple weeks ago. The fan at idle is too loud for my bedroom. My GMKtec M5 from a couple years ago is silent when idle. The BIOS doesn't allow me to change the fan curve. I can only change the constant speed the fan will run at. Too low and the temp heats up under load.

Edit: I contacted support, and they sent a link to download a newer BIOS version, which fixed the fan issue. The fan is now off and silent at idle. I had to search the web for instructions on how to update the BIOS since it wasn't in the email they sent or the file I downloaded.

When you add it to your cart and check out $367 is the final price! I was prepared to spend more but was surprised by the checkout final price. When I tried it just now the price was $366. Look closely and you will see the notation "SAVE 10% AT CHECKOUT."

the i5-12600H has 16 threads while the 6650H has 12 threads. The performance difference is about 10%. Thermal throttling can evaporate that difference. DDR5 has better iGPU performance (20%+). If your gaming go with DDR5.
