I have the wired K556 version with brown switches and it is by far the best mechanical keyboard under $50 I've ever used.

Any experience with the software? I'm looking for something to replace my logitech G15. Was looking at this or perhaps the K95. Would be nice if I could program the individual key lights on a per-game/app basis.

Sorry. I didn't even bother installing the software since I'm only a casual gamer and don't need.

You can use the software to program it to light a certain way, and switch it to that profile. But you cannot program it to recognize when software is being opened to switch over. You would have to manually do it.
I also have the wired version of this keyboard and its great. Its making me want to purchase this just in case.

there arent many keyboards on the market that you can program to change the lighting according to application launched, to be honest i dont know of any, maybe the DAS keyboard if you are lucky. However the red dragon software does let you individually program the key colors manually.

I use this keyboard and it has been a cheap pleasure, I came from using Razer/Corsair/etc all really expensive stuff that always seemed to fail quickly. I have been super pleased with Redragon and even switched to their mouse, the M908. Can't recommend this enough for anyone who wants a cheap/reliable gaming keyboard/mouse.

I bought the wired version of this years ago and liked the weight and feel of it so much I bought the wireless.

The first time I bought it I ended up returning it because it's rest mode was way too fast and it would miss the first couple of keystrokes. I left a review and returned it. A couple days later they left a response saying they fixed the issue. A couple of years later the wireless went on sale again so I bought it, and they did indeed fix the problem. My one complaint is that it will start missing or duplicating key presses. I change the mode and it clears it up. Normally takes quite a while for it to happen and changing modes is super easy.

I'm tempted to buy another one just so I have it in case. I don't know if I'll ever be satisfied with another keyboard that doesn't feel this sturdy without being clunky or bulky.

I did the same thing. Bought this keyboard wired and now I have the m991 and the wireless version as well. They aren't perfect, but the bang for your buck is hard to beat.

thanks. this was the kick i needed. i was trying to decide between the Corsair K70 and this. I had the Corsair Strafe with browns but ended up spilling water on it, so I needed a comparable replacement. these sound like a good option.

This is a much better choice than the Corsair. Trying to get any customer service from them when it fails is a complete PITA. I have dealt with them for far too long for the amount I spent on their crap.
