Sadly Allstate warranty does NOT cover the hinge. This has come up in the nearly 4 years since the XM5s were released. Pretty crappy policy

YMMV, but Allstate covered the hinges on my son's XM5's when they broke as he was taking them off his head. They just glued them back together.

YMMV, but I got my last pair for $140 by making an offer the last time they were on sale at $170. They respond quickly if they're going to accept.

Requisite note: yes the XM5s have hinge issues, but the (Allstate) warranty should cover. I've never had a problem with mine, but I treat them gently and keep them in their hard case when traveling.

Good deal. I bought from them in 2023 when they were on sale - refurb (not this price) and was able to utilize the 2-year warranty in 2025 for the issue where there was no sound in the right ear. It was also through Allstate. Came back repaired fine, but it died again.. Seems to be a common problem.
Are there alternatives with a great mic like the WH-1000XM5s? Looking for one with a good quality mic that filters out a lot of external noises. The XM4's mic performance was not as good as the XM5s.
