Just wanted to share that I got these the last time they were posted as a deal -- maybe 2-3 weeks ago. I sent them back after using them once and washing them in the dishwasher. They do not appear to be silicone and/or if they are they are not very good quality as they had a weird whitesh residue on them after being washed. I've never seen any color silicone do that before including the many other silicone tongs, basting brushes, etc. that we have.

These are junk. As soon as you put any pressure on the tongs to grip something the silicone gives up and folds backwards.

Got similar ones on a previous slickdeal. It's not OXO, but perfectly suitable utensils for what we need.

Does anyone know of kitchen tongs that are still designed like they used to, where instead of a flat piece in the back, it is fully boxed? The old design allows locking in different positions. It seems even the good brands so longer make them using the old design.

I like to have multiple pairs of tongs in my kitchen. One more heavy duty and one more lightweight and cheap. But the cheap ones keep breaking!

These cheap ones always seem to bend or even break under any weight.
