The QM6K is amazing as is. Don't listen to anyone who says the zone count isn't enough. I see quite literally the tiniest (and I mean tiniest) amount of blooming on the 98". I quite honestly don't think you can get significantly better before going OLED...
QM7K has 5x the local dimming zones. QM6K Pro is the perfect "other" TV, but for my main TV I want better local dimming so I went with the QM7K
Looks good for Rtings tests but how much real world difference does that make? If it wasn't for Rtings TCL and Hisense wouldn't be selling half as many tvs. Personally I think the SDR brightness and the quality of the upscaling makes the biggest difference. My Q80C Samsung has fantastic upscaling and I watch TONS of 720p videos on Tubi, Plex, and Pluto and a lot of the times I'd swear they were in 4k. But Rtings makes you think thousands of nits and a million dimming zones are critical. Any old procsessor will do I guess. Tried out a TCL Qm7 based on their review and it just sucked compared to what I was used to on a 7 year old Samsung. Upscaling? More like fuzzballing. I returned it after a week and believe me I didn't want to after the unpacking and mounting etc.

Depends on your room conditions, of course. If you have a dark room, dimming zones matter immensely unless you want greys instead of blacks. If you have a bright room, brightness may matter more.

Yep. Ever since I bought a 65" qm7, took down my old tv, unpacked the TCL and mounted it and was totally disappointed and had to reverse the process I just don't like them. I will say the QM5K is a great budget tv my son bought one and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.
65in was 499 at Costco during black Friday/monday, I was waiting for it to go on sale again, this is the cheapest it's been since then for super bowl, I was watching it like a hawk after I didn't pull the trigger the first time 🤣

Yes for 65, They don't have 75 in stores. At least not in Colorado
