Also, to the above poster, I didn't see any links to those places where it's "as low as" $330. That's ok, happens to all of us. The other week I sent an email saying "Please see attachment" and whoopsie, totally forgot the attachment!
Now, if you compared the relative value of an entry-level M1 Air to an entry-level M4 Air (which has gone on sale for ~$750-800 over the holiday season, msrp $1000)...I'd argue for the extra ~$400 (double the price), you're getting a machine with a far superior processor, marginally larger screen, and double the ram. Also, it's not going on 6 years old. (But I'm using a 16gb/1tb M1 Air right now, and it's held up splendidly under daily normal use.)
If you have a strict budget or want to get into the apple ecosystem on the cheap, it'd be hard to beat this for a low-risk entry point. It's a delightful, well-made ultrabook that's extremely inexpensive.

Main issue I have is, the battery is stuck at 1%, power settings say it's not being charged, and the battery health says "Service Recommended". Not sure what's going on here.
You may actually have lucked out with your Warranty expiring in August of this year.
You can take to the Apple store and get a brand spanking new battery!
released (Shipping started: March 18, 2022), it basically has M1/8GB/512 Storage, pretty much like the M1 MBAir. I think both will all still get plenty of security updates past 2030.
I think the key to MBAir M1 longevity is know when to stop upgrading the MacOS so it doesn't hold you back with a sluggish system. My arrived today with Tahoe 26.2. and I am thinking of nuking it and restore to big sur (I had a time machine backup of it when I first tried a M1 air and didn't like the low external monitor limit and returned it and bought M1 Max). But I always missed how light & portable it was, M1 Max is heavy as a brick.
Now I am looking for a light portable, and I can just SSH into the virtual machines I am running on the M1 Max.
- Box has several dents and some glue residues.
- The laptop itself have "new" appearance - no visible marks/dirt anywhere.
- Battery cycle 1, warranty expiring Aug 2026.
- Preinstalled OS is 13.6 (Ventura).
- Charger cable is zip tied and have traces of dirt; charger block shows some marks
Haven't taken apart the bottom cover to inspect inside yet. So far condition looks great and battery charges fine.I bought this as a secondary device to play around as I only ever used macbooks for boring stuff at work.

My background - I've been buying, selling, repairing, and using Macs since 2005 (Windows since 1990s). I'm in all sorts of "tech" (programming, architecting, networking, now managing every facet of tech).
I received the "like new" Macbook ($302 before tax) one today.
- Box was very clean overall and sticker states "Grade B"
- Macbook looks mint (keyboard, top, bottom, screen, rubber foot pads) except for 4 light and slight nicks of the metal edges from someone bumping those edges into some metal edge. Not terrible for me, and a bit of burring and light silver sharpie can make it look totally fine again.
- 5 cycle count (came with 78% state of charge)
- Warranty started in August 2025 and expires in August 2026
Why I bought it, and why I'll keep it:
- my kid's public school provides a Chromebook, but those are really old, battery life is bad, and being several years old it doesn't do most things very well
- he's been temporarily using my 2017 Macbook 12" Retina (A1534), which is fine, but battery life is only about 3-4.5 hours
- the Macbook Air M1 should have a real-world battery life of around 9-12 hours for his needs and several steps better than the current 12" Macbook; 8GB is totally fine for my kid's high school needs, which includes school work, basic software programming, and Minecraft/Hypixel/Hytale
- this computer still has a warranty
- it should last him until he goes to college
- MacOS updates on this model should be provided for at least a couple of years, otherwise, my kid knows how to use OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) to install a newer Mac OS version
Closing thoughts:
- This is a keeper for me at $302+tax, with active warranty, and a battery that only has 5 cycles on it
- I'll get the "Open Box" version in to see how it is, but with a $44 difference (+15% more), I don't see a reason to keep it for a marginally (maybe) better Macbook Air M1

Thoughts for those considering returning or keeping:
- If you have a brand new warranty (activates today when you turn it on), you can add monthly/annual Applecare+, if you want, for up to 60 days after the warranty starts [Macs are really reliable if you take care of them, and I personally would not add it on mine]
- If your warranty is already active and still valid, anyone with a "Service Recommended" battery can get a free warranty replacement from Apple, which is then a brand new battery with 0 cycle counts (and not ~4 years old sitting on a shelf) and realistically a _better_situation than anyone else's with a functioning battery with low cycle count [I would personally KEEP a Service Recommended battery with an active computer warranty]
- If your warranty is expired or older than 60 days, you have the option to add it to AppleCare One _any time_ for up to (according to Apple) 4 years after warranty was first activated. You can do this by starting AppleCare One with any new device (iPad, Watch, iPhone, Mac, AirPods), and then you can add any other warranty-eligible Apple product to the same AppleCare One plan (on the same iCloud account). There's a few great benefits here: you can retroactively repair most Apple products (within Apple terms and conditions), even if they have been out of warranty for a while, including batteries, screens, etc. Also, adding and then removing an Apple product from AppleCare One restarts the 60-day clock (at least it did a few months ago when I tried it out) for you to add a new extended AppleCare+ plan to individual Apple products, such as a new warranty to this Macbook Air M1, even if it's already expired. [I'm not recommending this, but you can buy any new Apple product from the Apple store, enroll in AppleCare One (supposedly even fully-refundable within 30 days if no services were used), add/remove the Macbook Air M1, add AppleCare+ to the Macbook Air M1, cancel AppleCare One, and then return the other Apple item within 14-days.]

Per eBay listing description: nventory is in Brand New, Unused & Fully Functional condition however the outer packaging will show signs of scuffs, dents, rips or may have also been repackaged. These products are fully warranted and are 100% brand new and guaranteed to be defect-free upon delivery.
Since I have AppleCare on my main Mac and the Apple Store is five minutes away, my intention for the Air is to act as an emergency backup. Because of that, I will not bother with AppleCare and didn't get the Allstate third-party warranty at checkout either (even if paying 25% of the product cost for a warranty would ever make sense). I will take it to the Apple Store for inspection just before the default warranty expires, something I do with all Apple products without AppleCare.
I think I can get by with just 256GB storage. I may, however, use SuperDuper! to make a bootable SSD clone of my main computer, and boot the Air with that instead. That way I will have an out-of-the-box exact duplicate of my usual setup.
Overall, fantastic price.
