u really should just lift and hike on different days. u r going to mess up ur body hiking with a load that no human can possibly secure with muscles on the duration of a hike.

I like to backpack every so often, I wanted to try carrying the weight of my backpack but a smaller profile so I can keep training while walking my dog on weekends on some local trails.
