That is a good size if you are planning to use cheap European airlines and carry personal item, everything else will be considered carry on and will need extra payment, something around $100+

They make a 28l xl version that would be better as a school bag. This is likely geared towards an everyday carry for people who don't carry a ton of books. 20l is plenty for the vast majority of people. This bag for $31 and great lifetime warranty is a steal.
